Police: DUI checkpoint yields one arrest

One driver was arrested at a DUI checkpoint Saturday night after police determined they were under the influence of marijuana.

Police set up the checkpoint in the 6900 block of Panama Lane. Officers screened 1,592 vehicles and detained five drivers for further sobriety tests.

Twenty-five drivers were cited for not having a license or for using a suspended license.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
