Police find stolen gun, suspect allegedly resists arrest in central Bakersfield

Two men face conspiracy, gun and gang charges after allegedly assaulting police in central Bakersfield.

Christopher Johnson, 34, and Keiwan Washington, 28, were taken into custody after police responded to a call about a disturbance with a firearm in the 3300 block of Palm Street.

Police said Washington resisted arrest, physically assaulting one of the officers, and a gun was found during a search of a car that he was seen walking away from.

The gun was determined to be stolen.
