Police ID dead woman in Oregon, investigate man in custody in California
REEDSPORT, Ore. - Investigators have tentatively identified the nude woman found dead at the base of a seaside overlook Sunday morning, state police said.
Her name has not yet been released pending confirmation of her identity from the state medical examiner.
State police also said detectives are also on the way to California to interview a suspect arrested on unrelated charges Monday night. Oregon State Police declined to name the suspect due to the ongoing investigation.
KCBY News confirmed with police in California that Oregon State police have shown interest in an Oregon man in custody in the north Bay Area on carjacking and weapons charges.
Lt. Jeff Taylor of the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety told KCBY News that detectives from Oregon are interviewing 30-year-old Jeffrey Boyce of North Bend, who is being held in a Marin County jail.
Taylor said his department is writing search warrants for the vehicles associated with Boyce, including a pickup truck they believe Boyce drove from Oregon.
Detectives in Oregon also served a search warrant at a residence in the Coos Bay area, state police said.
