Police: Man grabbed woman who was out for morning walk

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Police released a composite image Thursday of a man who sexually assaulted a 51-year-old woman as she walked in a southwest Bakersfield neighborhood.

Police said the victim and the man, who was riding a BMX-style bicycle, exchanged pleasantries as they passed Wednesday morning on Mountain Vista Drive, near Earl Warren Junior High School. About 30 seconds later, the man approached the victim from behind, fondled her breasts and attempted to force her to the ground, police said.

The man took off as the woman yelled for help.

The attacker was described as Hispanic, 25-27 years old, medium build, acne on forehead, wearing a white tank top, red basketball shorts, black Nike shoes and riding a Huffy bike.

Anyone with information helpful to the investigation is asked to call Detective Ken Sporer at (661) 326-3275.
