Polin was arrested April 2. Her sons,14-year-old Kasey Villegas and 13-year-old Christopher Villegas, were picked up by the Kern County Probation Department and arrested a week later.
According to police, Polin assaulted 17-year-old Francisco Ochoa with a knife outside of a grocery store. Polin then went to Ochoa's home and engaged him in a fight. A police report states that during the fight, Polin gave a knife to her son, who repeatedly stabbed Ochoa while yelling that he was going to kill Ochoa.
The report states that Polin continued to hit Ochoa on the head while her son stabbed Ochoa.
The police report didn't speak to motive.
Ochoa was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries remained unknown Wednesday to Eyewitness News. It has not yet been determined if the Villegas brothers will be tried as juveniles or adults.
Polin remains in custody with bail set at $550,000.
