Resident gets probation for entering barricaded area during Erskine Fire
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
A man who broached a barricade during the Erskine Fire has entered a plea on a misdemeanor charge and was sentenced to three years probation, according to the Kern County District Attorney's Office.
Joseph Palme was arrested June 26 at his home in the Eskine burn area.
The District Attorney's Office says Palme went into the restricted area twice, once while trying to spit on a Caltrans worker and trying to punch a California Highway Patrol officer. He also kicked the officer twice and cursed at the officer, the District Attorney's Office says.
