Honor Flight's Lili Marsh named state senate district's Woman of the Year
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
"Lili Marsh is the embodiment of the American spirit and Bakersfield pride," said Fuller in a news release Monday.
Marsh was a founding member of Honor Flight Kern County, which is an organization that helps aging veterans get a chance to see memorials in Washington, D.C., that were built in their honor.
"Senator Fuller and our local community have long been supporters of our veterans, Honor Flight Kern County, and our efforts to bring our veterans to THEIR monuments in Washington D.C.," said Marsh in the news release.
Marsh is currently working on her latest project, which is the Portrait of a Warrior Gallery. The gallery will feature portraits of service members that lost their lives in combat following the 9/11 attacks. The gallery's release date has not been set yet but is expected to open soon near the area of 20th and Eye streets.
Marsh has also has a long list of contributions, including helping victims of Hurricane Katrina by organizing volunteers from the Bakersfield Fire Department and an effort to fill two semitrucks with supplies for the evacuees impacted by the storm.
