      Sheriff's office: 2 arrested in parking lot with 12 pounds of meth

      {A href="http://www.bakersfieldnow.com/search?q=Bakersfield"}BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) Two people were busted Tuesday in a parking lot near White Lane and Highway 99 for allegedly possessing 12 pounds of methamphetamine.

      The Kern County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday that Jose Mendoza-Garcia, 35, of Gilroy, and Luis Sarabia-Murin, 44, of Bakersfield, were found with the drugs inside a Chevrolet Suburban around 3:30 p.m.

      The Homeland Security Investigations Office placed immigration detainers on both suspects, according to the sheriff's office.
