Sheriff's office alert: 2 sex offenders need to be found
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) The Kern County Sheriff's Office alerted the public Friday about a pair of registered sex offenders who were released from incarceration within the week and failed to report to their parole office.
Ronald Buckenberger was released from Avenal State Prison on June 8. A few days later, a warrant was issued for his arrest for violating parole, according to the sheriff's office.
Buckenberger is considered a "high risk" offender for a conviction of annoying or molesting child under 18 years of age, according to the Megan's Law website, operated by the California Department of Justice. He's a transient and is known to frequent the cities of Ventura and Las Vegas, the sheriff's office said. He has used the alias "Troy Hickle."
The sheriff's office is also on the lookout for Eryc Sutton, who was released Thursday from Lerdo Detention Facility. He has a prior conviction for child molestation, and his last known address is in California City.
Anyone who knows the whereabouts of either man is asked to call the Bakersfield parole office at (661) 634-9620, the sheriff's office at 861-3110 or the Secret Witness hotline at 322-4040. Anonymous text tips can be sent to TIP411 (847411). Type the keyword "KCSO" prior to the anonymous text tip.
