Sheriff's office: Inturrupted burglary, crash and citizen intervention lead to arrest of teens
WASCO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Two Tulare County teenagers were arrested Friday after crashing their car during a burglary getaway, the Kern County Sheriff's Office said.
A third suspect has not been located.
The suspects were interrupted by a female resident during a home burglary on 1st Street in Wasco, the sheriff's office said. The suspects took off in a convertible Ford Mustang but crashed into a pickup after running a stop sign at 2nd and F streets, according to the sheriff's office.
After running away from the crash on foot, two of the suspects, 19-year-old Jesse Carranza and a 17-year-old boy whose name was withheld, were detained somehow by a private citizen before deputies arrived and arrested them.
Those two suspects are on probation out of Tulare County.
