Suspected underage drunken driver flips truck, slams into gas meter

A 20-year-old man allegedly drove drunk Tuesday morning and crashed his truck into a gas meter at Knudsen and Olive drives.

The California Highway Patrol said Chad McKibbin was driving north on Olive around 2:30 a.m. when he lost control of his truck and hit a curb. He rolled his truck and slammed into a gas meter and tree.

The CHP closed the intersection for several hours as crews worked to fix the broken meter.

McKibbin was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

McKibbin suffered minor injuries. His passenger, a 21-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
