People across the country and in Kern County are still coming to terms with the tragedy in Las Vegas. Wednesday night, people in Taft gathered to honor one of their own, Kelsey Meadows.

She was 27 years old and a graduate of Taft Union High School, where she later became a substitute teacher.

The people who knew her said she was quiet but always had on a smile.

Several dozens people came together, standing strong for a woman who had a bright future ahead of her. Family, friends, and students came together to say their final goodbyes.

Many people say she was shy but when you knew her, you would never forget her.
