Outlets at Tejon give to Kern County nonprofits
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
The Outlets at Tejon are getting ready for the holidays by giving to Kern County charities with a new type of Christmas tree.
Here's how it works:
- You tweet to @outletsattejon.
- #cheer activates the CASA lights.
- #joy activates the Marley's Mutts lights.
- #peace activates the Wounded Heroes Fund lights.
The organization that can keep the Twitter tree lit the longest will be the winner.
Laurie Brucker, style ambassador for The Outlets at Tejon, said it's important to bring the community together.
"We love interaction with the Kern County community, and we also love the giving aspect to the holiday season, so we figured why not we incorporate our tree lighting with Twitter and with charities this season so we can support the community but also have fun here at the Outlets of Tejon," Brucker said.
The competition ends this Sunday night.
