More than a month after the state's largest wildfire on record erupted, it is now fully contained.

Fire officials announced Friday morning that the Thomas Fire has reached 100 percent containment "after the overflights yesterday."

The Thomas Fire started Dec. 4, killed two people, destroyed more than 1,000 structures and burned nearly 282,000 acres in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties.
