Traffic Alert: Westside Parkway on-ramp shutdown from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
A daytime closure has been announced, from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. the Truxtun On-ramp to Westside Parkway will be shut down. The closures are needed to allow a contractor to drive piles within close proximity of the on-ramp bridge.
During these closures, motorists should continue west on Truxtun Avenue to Mohawk Street and enter the freeway from the Mohawk Street on-ramp.
Vehicles traveling eastbound on the Westside Parkway should be prepared to merge, the Truxtun Avenue off-ramp has been reduced to one lane. This configuration is expected to remain in place through the duration of bridge construction.
The Kern River Bridge Improvements project is the first phase of the Centennial Corridor project; it constructs bridges and makes the necessary improvements for the future freeway’s connection to the Westside Parkway.
