Some families at Memorial Hospital have memorable Mother's Days

If you talk to mothers at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital, many of them will agree that no matter where you are, the best gift on Mother's Day is being with family.

For mother Kenia and father Juan Contreras, they are doing just that.

Their daughter, Amelia, has spent the majority of her little life in the hospital. At just 2 weeks old, she was diagnosed with GBS, a condition that attacks her immune system. Shorty after that, she came down with meningitis.

Baby Amelia has come a long way and was able to spend Mother's Day outside of the hospital room with her family.

Also at Memorial Hospital, Fiona Kosareff was born on Mother's Day to proud parents Hedi and Jason Kosareff.

She made her big debut into the world at 3:11 a.m. Sunday, and her arrival date was a shock to both her parents. She wasn't due for two more weeks.
