Woman dies after car goes into Isabella Lake

A woman has died after her car went into Isabella Lake on Thursday night.

Kern County deputies got a call for a vehicle into the lake around 6 p.m. near Kissack Cove.

A witness told deputies that the car may have suffered a mechanical failure, which caused the car to go into the lake, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Rescue crews got the woman out of the car. She was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The identity of the woman has not yet been released.
