Woman hit by alleged drunk driver has died
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) A woman hit by an alleged drunk driver in a work van has died.
The Kern County coroner's office said Tuesday night that 79-year-old Joan Zeek succumbed to her injuries while at Ronald Regan UCLA Medical Center.
Zeek's car was hit by a locksmith's van the afternoon of April 23 at Calloway Drive and Marby Grange Way in Bakersfield.
"The driver of that van was found to be DUI," Bakersfield police Sgt. Joe Grubbs told Eyewitness News the next day.
Grubbs said the van driver, 30-year-old Keith Majusiak, may have run a red light.
