(KUTV) Two people are dead and two others are injured after a shooting and crash, according to the Unified Police Department. Shots were fired out of a truck and then the truck struck a car leaving the site of the shooting.

Police are looking for a person in a red hoodie that may have run from the area after the crash in the area of 5200 West, 5400 South, in Kearns, Utah.

"This is definitely gang related," police spokeman Lt. Brian Lohrke. He declined to release details about the gangs that he said he knew were involved. "I am not going to glorify their actions. I am not going to put their names on the news."

He said gang violence has been escalating in the last few weeks and said police and citizens are fed up and called the gang actions "ridiculous."

"We are absolutely furious about this," Lohrke said. More resources will be put into the gang problem, he said.

He said one of the injured had been shot while another was injured by the crash. The two dead people were discovered in the white car that colided with the blue truck.

The shooting apparently started when individuals inside the truck started shooting at somebody -- presumably on foot -- who was struck by gunfire. That person was taken to a hospital.

Lohrke said the truck left the scene and crashed into a white car in the area of the scene. One person inside the blue truck, that flipped and rolled, according to Lohrke, was seriously injured when emergency responders arrived. Two people in the white car were dead. Police are currently searching the neighborhood around the crash, looking for a person in a red hoodie who may have fled from the truck after the crash.

Those in the white car have no been identified and it isn't yet known if they were involved in the shooting in anyway. Lohrke said it is possible they were just driving by and were hit.

At about 6:30 a.m. on September 20 it was reported that a second suspect was in custody.

The suspects were later identified as Kearns arrestees: Rosalio Alvarez (age 19); Argenis Daniel Ramirez (age 19); Jose Luis Cirilo Muñoz Lugo (age 24); and a 17-year-old juvenile.

The victims were identified as Tami Lynn Woodard (50) and Lloyd Everett Pace (55), both Kearns residents.

This is a developing story.
