The Blue Buffalo Company has issued a voluntary recall for its BLUE Wilderness Rocky Mountain Recipe Red Meat Dinner Wet Food for Adult Dogs.

The FDA says the recall is limited to one lot of the dog food which could have an elevated level of beef thyroid hormones.

A high-level of beef thyroid hormones in a dog's diet could cause increased thirst and peeing, weight loss, an increased heart rate and restlessness. The FDA says the symptoms should disappear if the dog stops eating the affected food. Feeding a dog the food for a longer period of time could increase the severity of the symptoms.

The recall is limited to the 12.5 oz can with UPC Code 840243101153 and a Best Buy date of June 7, 2019. No other products have been recalled.

The food was sold through pet store and online retailers. Anyone who bought the food can return it to the place they bought it for a full refund, or can throw the food out.
