Video: Water flows in Kern River through Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
In a rare sight, water is flowing in the Kern River through Bakersfield.
Jason Meadors, Bakersfield Water Resources director, says the runoff was mainly caused by rain below the Isabella Dam.
Some water has been diverted to storage districts and is being “banked” in either reservoirs or as groundwater.
The last time water flowed west of Golden State Avenue was in the summer of 2015.
