Tehachapi baseball coach alert after being hit in head by foul ball

TEHACHAPI, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) The Tehachapi High School baseball coach is now awake and alert after he was hit in the head by a foul ball.

The school's principal said Wednesday that Coach Chris Olofson is up and talking with family at Kern Medical Center.

Witnesses at Tuesday night's game said the coach was unconscious for several minutes after he was hit by the ball. Olofson was transported to KMC with a fractured skull and bleeding on his brain.
