It's a real treat and an honor to be working in Bakersfield.
I was born here in Southern California, but grew up living around the world. I'm a U.S. Air Force "brat" who grew up on the go.
My career started when I took my first job in radio at KZUL Parker, Arizona, as an on-air personality and news reporter. A move to Salt Lake City would hone my radio skills, where I made the jump to TV news. TV took me to San Diego, Salinas-Monterey, Fresno and Los Angeles. I anchored the news at KCAL TV in L.A. for 17 years. TV news has allowed me to travel the world. Whether I was in Saudi Arabia covering Desert Storm, in Italy for the election of a new Pope, or reporting from the Pentagon, I've enjoyed bringing people stories about other people.
My wife, Nancy, and I have been married for 25 years and have a beautiful daughter. While at home, you'll find me playing the guitar, taking in a Dodgers game, or taking care of our two horses and two dogs. Even though I've traveled the world, my favorite place is still my own backyard.
If you see me on the street, please say hello. I always enjoy chatting with new people.
