Hello Kern County! I'm excited to join the Eyewitness News team and continue to wake up with everyone and deliver the first news of the day.
Seven years ago, I made the drive from my hometown of Simi Valley and pulled into the great city of Bakersfield and never looked back. I started my journalism career as the producer for the 5 p.m. news at KERO, and then worked my way to reporting, and after a few years moved to the anchor desk.
My passion for news started at a very young age. Instead of watching cartoons, my mom would catch me watching the morning news. So, naturally, I followed my dreams and ended up graduating from Cal State University Northridge with my B.A. in Broadcast Journalism.
In my free time, you might see me exploring Kern County with my fur baby, Rex. I rescued him from Rexland Acres Park while I was reporting on a story there. I say I rescued him, but what I really should say is we found each other!
I'm also a self-proclaimed foodie! I love cooking, grilling and trying out new spots around town. What I might love more than the food, is connecting with the community when I'm out! You never know when you'll meet that one person who has a great untold story that needs to be told! So, if you're out and about, don't hesitate to say hi!
