I am thrilled to join Eyewitness News here in Bakersfield.
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, but spent most of my young adult life living in Southern California, including San Diego and Los Angeles. Now, I am excited to called Kern County my new home!
I received my degree in Broadcast Journalism and Communication Students with honors at California State University, Northridge. Go Matadors!
During my time in school, I produced, reported and anchored for our student run station, Valley View News, which aired on local stations in Los Angeles and Santa Clarita. During this time, I traveled to Mexico to report on immigration. I covered the Aliso Canyon gas leak, which was one of the biggest gas leaks in U.S. history. I also hosted a live panel of professionals on women's reproductive rights and the funding of Planned Parenthood.
When it came to internships in college, I ventured into radio. I worked as an intern and later a contributor to KCSN 88.5, where I helped write stories and host my own lifestyle segment. I also interned for iHeartMedia Los Angeles where I touched all departments of radio including broadcast, marketing and promotions. Lastly, I interned for RCA Records, where I dove into radio promotions for local stations around the nation.
My love for journalism comes from the stories of the people I meet. I love meeting new people, because everyone is different and has a story to tell.
In my free time, you'll find me listening to music or trying to find a good concert! I enjoy being with family and friends, traveling and keeping up with the latest fashion trends. If you have a story idea or just want to say hello feel free to reach out to me on Facebook, Twitter or email. I would love to hear from you!
