2 retired teachers win election to Kern High School District board

    BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – A pair of retired teachers won election Tuesday to the Kern High School District board.

    Cynthia Brakeman unseated Mike Williams with 52 percent of the vote in the Area 1 race.

    Meanwhile, Janice Graves bested two others – Jenifer Pitcher and Bryan Colebrook – for the Area 4 seat. Graves earned 46 percent of the vote.

    Current Area 4 board member Phillip Peters didn’t run for re-election.
