'Watermelon Crawl,' 'The Keeper of the Stars' singer to play Bakersfield

    Country singer Tracy Byrd first hit gained success in 1993 with his number “Holdin’ Heaven” and quickly climbed the charts with songs like “Watermelon Crawl,” “I’m From the Country,” “Ten Rounds of Jose Cuervo” and CMA Song of the Year “The Keeper of the Stars.”

    In recent years, Byrd has kept his touring within Texas, but he’s ready to hit the road again.

    The artist swings through Bakersfield on his Tracy Byrd - 2019 tour, playing at Buck Owens’ Crystal Palace on Feb. 2. Byrd’s special guest for the show is Vince Galindo. Doors open at 5 p.m., the show begins at 7:30 p.m.

    “I am really enjoying getting back out on the road,” Byrd said in a news release. “I loved spending time off watching the kids grow, but I have missed seeing the legion of fans that we had gained over the years. I look forward to reconnecting with them on the road!”

    Tickets costs range from $52.50 to $60.50, plus service fees. They go on sale Friday at 11 a.m. and may be purchased at vallitix.com or by calling the box office at the Crystal Palace at (661) 328-7560. The box office will be open at 3 p.m. for in-person purchases.
