BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- Viewers reached out to Eyewitness News after finding a pile of dead coyotes dumped in an open field about half a mile away from Thorner Elementary School.

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife says it is legal to hunt coyotes, but the way they were dumped on the side of the road is cause for concern.

The DFW picked up the coyotes Thursday morning and launched an investigation.

If you would like to report suspicious activity, you are asked to reach out to DFW.
