1 dead in rollover crash on Old River Road

UPDATE: A 29-year-old man later died at the hospital from this crash. The coroner's office on Monday, Oct. 16, identified him as Edgar Tellez.

Two people had to be airlifted, and another was injured in a rollover crash on Old River Road near Copus Road on Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened just shortly before 4 p.m. when the driver of a GMC Yukon was attempting to pass another car. The driver lost control, causing the rollover.

The CHP said one of the people inside the car was ejected and suffered severe injuries. Another person also suffered severe injuries. Both had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Another person in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and is expected to survive.
