Bakersfield Citibank robbed by man who threatened to detonate explosive

A Citibank was robbed Wednesday by a man who claimed to have an explosive, police said.

No explosive device was actually seen.

Police said the man walked into the branch off California Avenue near Stockdale Highway shortly before 1 p.m., handed the teller a note, demanded money and issued the threat.

Police released a surveillance photo of the suspect, who possibly wore a fake dark-colored beard.
