Residents will have their opportunity to have their voices heard on a proposed crosswalk for the 24th Street widening project.

In October, the city decided to remove crosswalks at Drake and A streets as part of the project.

Some residents have complained that they've lost vital connectors with the removal of the crosswalks, but Public Works Director Nick Fidler said having a crosswalk with the project is dangerous.

The Bakersfield City Council will meet Wednesday, and among the agenda items is a possible crosswalk at Pine and 24th streets.

The City Council meets at 5:15 p.m. at 1501 Truxtun Ave.
