Bakersfield College on Wednesday unveiled its plans for a Veterans Resource Center on its main campus.

The project will be funded by Measure J, a bond measure voters approved in 2016.

The unveiling was part of the college’s weeklong schedule of veteran-appreciation events.

“The Panorama campus was built in 1956 and since then we have experienced tremendous growth in both overall student population, but also in the number of student Veterans that we serve," Bakersfield College President Sonya Christian said in a news release. "BC has received remarkable support from our community through the passing of Measure J and this is only the first of many projects we look forward to starting for our students and the future transformation of our campus.”
