Bakersfield Heart Hospital, Hall Ambulance team up for free CPR training
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
This Sidewalk CPR event is part of a monthlong National CPR Awareness effort.
The hands-only CPR training is set for noon to 3 p.m. in front of the Costco store off Rosedale Highway. Training will take only about five minutes to teach, and people will be provided with free educational materials, according to Bakersfield Heart Hospital.
The training will not qualify anyone for certification or a CPR card.
"The hands-only technique is simple to learn and takes just a few minutes. The public can play an important role in the chain of survival, by recognizing the symptoms of sudden cardiac arrest, calling 9-1-1, and initiating CPR until paramedics arrive,” Mark Corum, of Hall Ambulance, said in a news release.
