Bakersfield police arrest two on suspicion of gun and gang crimes

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – Two men were arrested after they allegedly tossed a loaded gun from a car while trying to get away from officers.

Police said Brian Wright and Nathaniel Jones III, both 25, were arrested on suspicion of firearm violations and gang participation.

Police said the traffic stop was attempted Sunday night for minor vehicle code violations at Potomac Avenue and South King Street. The driver allegedly tried to get away before stopping on nearby South Baker Street.

The discarded gun was recovered by officers.
