Bakersfield police: Customers stop armed robbery at Fastrip

Customers in a Fastrip convenience store stopped an armed robbery early Monday morning, police said.

Joshua Farley, 18, allegedly pointed a gun at the clerk around 2:30 a.m. while trying to rob the store on Mt. Vernon Avenue. Several customers stepped in to disarm and detain Farley until officers arrived, according to police.

Police said Farley's gun fired while the customers tried to disarm him, but no one was hit.
