Man dies after allegedly threatening woman, getting arrested

Police officers are investigating an in-custody death Monday.

Officers were called out around 1:50 p.m. to the area of San Miguel Commemorative Grove near Manor Street after a woman had been reportedly threatened by a man with a gun, later determined to be a fake firearm.

Officers were quick to arrive and arrested the man without incident.

A few minutes later, the officers noticed the suspect had become unresponsive, and they called for medical aid.

Police said first responders were not able to save the man, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two officers that were first to arrive on scene have been placed on administrative leave pending further investigation of the incident.

The man's identity is not yet known. The coroner's office will determine how the man died.
