Police have released a composite sketch of a man who is suspected of sexually assaulting and robbing a 15-year-old girl.

The suspect is described as a black man between 20 and 25 years old, about 5-foot-6, with green or hazel eyes. Police said he was wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.

This happened before 8 Friday morning, according to police Sgt. Ryan Kroeker.

He said the girl was on her way to school, walking to the bus stop near the 2900 block of Haley Street. Police said the girl reported she was approached by the man, who pointed a handgun at her and forced her to a nearby alley.

Police said the victim reported that's where she was sexually assaulted and robbed.

Kroeker said the man demanded money from the victim, and she handed over what she had. Police said after the assault, the suspect demanded more money than the girl had on her, and he forced her to take him to her house.

Police said the suspect waited outside the house while the victim went inside and got more money.

Police said after the suspect got the money, he fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation, including the identity of the suspect, is asked to call Detective Frank Esquerra (661) 326-3870.
