A man appears to have died of a self-inflicted gunshot Monday at a marijuana dispensary, police Sgt. Ryan Kroeker said.

Vice and narcotics officers arrived at the Green Moon Collective on Golden State Avenue to serve a search warrant. This was one of 10 such search warrant operations related to marijuana dispensaries, police said.

Officers made their way through the business and came upon a locked door. They were talking with the man on the other side of the door when they heard a gunshot, according to Kroeker.

When they made entry, they found the man with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers fired their weapons.

Kroeker didn't know if the man who died was an employee of the shop. His name will be released by the coroner's office.

Police found several guns and 15 grams of rock cocaine, in addition to the marijuana, at the Green Moon Collective.
