Pedestrian hit, killed by driver who doesn't stop

UPDATE | The coroner's office on Sept. 15 identified the pedestrian killed in this collision as 45-year-old Ramon Casarez Baeza.


BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- A man has died after being hit by a car in east Bakersfield, according to police.

The pedestrian was struck shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday on East Brundage Lane near Tyree Toliver Street. The man was walking east in the roadway when he was hit by dark compact vehicle.

The driver didn't remain at the scene.
