The Bakersfield Police Department says those attending the California State University, Bakersfield graduation ceremony Friday should expect traffic delays.

Drivers are advised to expect the delays starting around 5 a.m. and lasting until noon.

Areas that are expected to see a higher volume of traffic include:

  • Stockdale Highway and Don Hart East
  • Stockdale Highway and Don Hart West
  • Gosfrod Road and Kroll Way

The BPD says drivers should use alternate routes when heading for the ceremony.

Overflow parking for the ceremony will be available in the north parking lot of the Edwards Cinema.

Should the overflow parking be needed, drivers should expect Camino Media to be closed between Haggin Oaks and Scarlet Oaks boulevards.
