BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – An Eyewitness News viewer captured video of a brazen shoplifting incident at the Apple store in the Valley Plaza Mall.

The viewer, who wishes to remain anonymous, said she was shopping for her daughter’s laptop around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday when three guys entered the store and started grabbing items, including display computers.

“Alarms started blaring and they were very bold, and moved quickly,” she described.

Police told Eyewitness News that they would investigate. Sgt. Brian Holcombe said they’ve gotten 35 shoplifting reports from that store so far this year.

Apple representatives declined comment.
