Campers already in line for Black Friday, some for charity

Four days before Black Friday, some shoppers have already lined up outside the Best Buy on Rosedale Highway.

Some are looking to score deals, while others are trying to draw attention to their cause.

Nick Recentio has been doing this for years, but his purpose is bigger.

"I'm first in line so I can get an awesome TV so we can raffle it off for the 11th annual Christmas Toy Drive," said Recentio.

It's a drive to bring toys to kids at Kern Medical all year long.

"This could be the last toy the kid has," said Recentio. "This is no joke. This is something that is very special and memorable for the kids, and this could last them the rest of their life."

He uses Black Friday to bring awareness to those who are in need of toys, and he donates what he buys to charity.

Alyssa Owens was at Best Buy supporting the cause, too. She has cystic fibrosis, a terminal illness of the lungs. She has been in and out of the hospital her whole life and said it's important to support causes that matter.

"As a child, I would spend months at a time, and I remember laying in those hospital beds and volunteers coming by," said Owens. "Bringing toys, stuffed animals, blankets, cards, coloring, anything like that, and it was just something that, I'm not just laying in bed all day, it was just a better positive energy. "

The event will happen at the Crest Bar and Grill on Wible Road, Dec. 2.
