BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
A driver was arrested Tuesday morning on suspicion of driving drunk and slamming into the back of a stopped vehicle in a construction zone.
California Highway Patrol Officer Robert Rodriguez said the vehicle was stopped because of traffic control in the construction zone on 7th Standard Road, just east of Highway 43.
That person suffered major injuries, Rodriguez said.
The suspected drunken driver, identified as 23-year-old Emilio Tellez, suffered minor injuries in the crash, the officer said.
