City Council to hold high-speed rail workshop, talk about trashing senior refuse rebate

City Council members are slated to discuss the planned high-speed rail station for Bakersfield, along with trashing certain rebates for seniors when they meet Wednesday.

The council will have a "special meeting" at 4 p.m. in its chambers, 1500 Truxtun Ave., for a workshop on the high-speed rail plan. That meeting will include a time for public statements.

No council action is required in the high-speed rail workshop.

The regular meeting will start at 5:15, also in the council chambers, during which there will be a first reading of an ordinance repealing the Senior Refuse Rebate Program.

The full agenda for the regular meeting can be seen below.
