Dozens of people were on hand for the Bakersfield Mini Comic-Con on Sunday.

The bi-annual event brought in superheroes and villains alike, all for a good cause.

The event donates 100 percent of its proceeds to The Mission at Kern County to assist in its help for the homeless and youth.

It's a cause that is near and dear to the heart of the event organizer.

"I've been this close to homeless, I've been having to stand in line for government cheese, I've been there, so this is a great cause," said coordinator Steven Wyatt.

For many other people, it was a chance to dress up and play the part of their favorite character for the day.
