Coroner identifies 22-year-old Bakersfield man found dead from gunshot wound

The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was found dead on Flower Street on March 2 as 22-year-old Johnny Lee Romeriz Castro of Bakersfield.

The coroner’s office said on March 2, at around 7:39 a.m., Castro was found unresponsive in the 1000 block of Flower Street in Bakersfield.

The coroner’s report said Castro was confirmed to be dead.

A postmortem examination was performed, and the cause of death was determined to be a gunshot wound of the arm and the manner of death was homicide.
