CSUB holding events in honor of MLK on 50th anniversary of his assassination

To honor Martin Luther King Jr. on the 50th anniversary of his assassination, California State University, Bakersfield will be holding several events Wednesday.

CSUB will have a faculty panel on King's legacy from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Dezember Reading Room.

They will also show a documentary on King at 2 p.m. in the Walter W. Stiern Library.

A public reading of King's letter from Birmingham jail will start at 4:30 p.m. at the Stiern Library.

CSUB President Dr. Horace Mitchell and Vice President of Student Affairs Thomas Wallace will both speak about King's legacy at 6 p.m. at the Dore Theater.

Memorials for King are also expected to happen nationwide.
