Donor match found for Bodfish infant battling cancer
FRESNO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) —
Nolan Lanza is a 7-month-old baby from Bodfish who is battling HLH, a rare form of cancer.
The infant is in need of a life-saving bone marrow transplant from a donor.
Nolan recently finished a round of chemotherapy.
Recently, his parents, John and Katie Lanza, got a phone call saying a 9 out of 10 match was found.
Nolan has been discharged from the Valley Children's Hospital near Fresno until the transplant.
While it looks like Nolan will get the donation he needs, his parents are still asking everyone to sign up for the bone marrow registry. They said even though you won't be saving Nolan, you might be saving someone else's child.
