DELANO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A driver is dead after suffering a medical emergency Tuesday on Highway 99 south of Delano, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officer Robert Rodriguez said the man's SUV glided to a halt on the median and didn't crash with any other vehicles.

Rodriguez said the man, who was in his 60s, died, was revived by first responders and then died again en route to the hospital. He couldn't be revived a second time, Rodriguez said.
