Family identifies man shot, killed near internet gaming business

Family members have identified the man who was shot and killed near an internet gaming business in south Bakersfield on Saturday morning as 26-year-old Brandon Ellington.

He leaves behind a girlfriend and an 8-month-old daughter, they said.

Ellington was found around 2 a.m. suffering from a gunshot wound on the 5500 block of South Union Avenue. He died at the scene, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Local business owners in the area say the internet gaming business has caused a rise in crime.

The Sheriff's Office has provided no suspect information at this time.
